Pretty good food....somewhat cramped space. Fast service. I usually come here for a quick lunch. No real complaints.

Best fish tacos in the city. Quick service and great customer service. The fish tacos were delicious!!

Good fish tacos. I don't like that you can not buy a la cart, you are forced to get a combo deal. 2 fish tacos + chips, pico, and guac is $10. The menu is basic, burritos and tacos. Good, fresh, quick food. As of Feb2015, no more horchata.

Came in here as we were walking by. Reminds me of a moe's or a chipotle. The wife got a steak rice bowl w her preferred fixings and i got the mahi mahi tacos. We loved both of our meals. Decent price, flavor is good, definitley worth a try. There was no wait and the staff was friendly.

Located in downtown New Orleans (two locations), the staff were polite and efficient. The prices are good, and you get a hugely-stuffed burrito. I got the chicken burrito, fully dressed, with white & Mexican rice, pinto beans, onions, pico-de-gallo sauce, jalepenos, sour cream, lettuce, and two kinds of hot sauces. The hot sauces weren't really very hot, but the burrito was delicious. I would return to this place! RJT

NO HUBRIS, UNLIKE FELIPE'S (whose hash-slinger attitude has gotten so tedious); NOT AS CROWDED AS FELIPE'S; cafeteria style taqueria; clean, large dining room. CHEAPER THAN FELIPE'S: a huge 1.25 LB steak burrito loaded, just $7. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE LOW RATINGS. No it's not "La Fonda on Main" in San Antonio, but for what it is: an inexpensive, adaptively healthy, fresh, AND locally owned taqueria we are darn lucky to have it in the CBD.

The other reviews are about spot on. The food is decent although not as good as Felipe's. The main thing I took away from my experience was that the guy, who I assume to be the owner/manager, was dipping tobacco WHILE making my burrito. He spit into the trash can right in front of me then proceeded to make my lunch. Never again. I can only guess what else goes on behind the scenes if he's willing to dip right in front of guests.

Make your own burrito/salad/nachos. Fresh fillings, generous portions. Very clean place, reasonably priced. Wish there was a little bit more on the menu, but I was happy with it.

Great spot! Went here for lunch on a weekday and was able to get my food and sit down pretty quickly. I got tacos - 2 ground beef and 1 chicken. Both were good but the ground beef was delicious! All the girls working behind the counter were very friendly too. Would highly recommend this place for a quick lunch!

The staff was exceptionally polite and cheerful, something sorely lacking in most CBD restaurants. Had a steak burrito with Spanish rice and black beans. Everything looked and tasted fresh and tasty. Overall great lunch experience!!

One of the best deals downtown for lunch. A huge chicken salad made-to-order and a very healthy portion of chips and salsa for $8.67. Service is great and the folks behind the counter always have a smile on their faces. The only complaint I have is the forks are way small, but guess that just forces me to take smaller bites!

This place is a good deal if you work in the CBD and need something fast during your lunch break. There's never a line, and the seating is usually pretty open. The burritos are generic, but good. You don't get too many options for your burrito fillings, but they have enough stuff to build a decent burrito if you're not too picky. My order pretty much always lands right around $10.

This place is fine but I like other fast burrito shops better. The only reason I might go back is that it wasn't crowded.

Oso's, which started as a mediocre burrito spot, has finally stepped it up a notch. The addition of the fish tacos to the menu is wonderful. They are simply fabulous, and turned an okay lunch spot to a much better option. Well done.

I used to live in New Orleans and this place was around the corner from my office building. This was my favorite place to get lunch when I didn't bring my lunch; in fact, it was pretty much the only place I went. Their burritos were really good; I liked the fresh ingredients as well as the fresh chips and salsa. I don't even like Mexican food but this place is really good.

I thought this place would have been a better option than the convention food, but maybe I should've just gotten my lunch there instead. I got their steak burrito with guac and a mango fresca. The burrito lacked flavor and the ingredients used didn't seem fresh. The mango fresca was just too sweet.

This is a great Mexican lunch spot in the CBD. I love the options here - comparable to Felipe's, or a chain like Chipotle/Qdoba. The restaurant is small inside - definitely gets "cozy" during a busy lunch rush!

Great food at a great price. I can't wait to try the fish tacos! Owners are great people...support your local businesses!

I don't agree with the 4 star reviews. It's good for a quick lunch, because yes the lines are shorter. And why is that? Because the food is mediocre. The pico de Gallo is NOT the pico de gallo I know and love. It's huge chunks of tomato and onion with minimal cilantro. I'm not thrilled, but I'll go back if I don't have a better option for whatever reason.

It's nice to have a burrito option in the Central Business District. My favorite thing here is the Rice Bowl, it's large and very filling! The prices seem reasonable, I would recommend checking it out!

Just wanted a fish taco for lunch. Didn't realize they had to go catch one first. They don't tell you until you pay that it'll be 5 min. Waited 15 min and it was mediocre at best, maybe an ounce of fish. In fact it wasn't mediocre, it sucked. Staff was flustered and disorganized. With so many other options in the CBD this place will struggle. I wouldn't come back if it was free.

Yet another great lunch option in the CBD. Oso's occupies the space vacated by Froots. It's a standard 'make your own burrito' place in the same vein as Chipolte, Izzo's and Felipe's. However, this is a smaller, more stripped down version. The menu is very simple. A standard white tortilla will surround the fillings of your choice. You get to pick from three different meats or go veg with beans. I went veg and was not disappointed. The beans and veggies were pretty fresh and I give them bonus points for having pico de gallo in 3 different heat ranges. The spicy pico was surprisingly good and added serious flavor. A burrito will set you back six dollars and change and you'll be out the door in no time. They may not have all the options like Felipe's, but they have mastered all the basics.

Build Your Own. You don't like it, you can only blame yourself. You pick what you want and they add it as you go down the line kinda like subway. I am living off the salads and have already lost 5 pounds!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
